FAQ's
What is VoIP?
VoIP is an abbreviation for Voice over Internet Protocol - new technology that enables you use the internet to make and receive phone. Previously you had to use analogue phone lines.
What benefits are there to a VoIP Phone System?
The main benefit of VoIP over analogue is it is cheaper to run, in addition you are using digital technology which adds facilities like caller ID , voicemail, conference calls, music-on-hold, etc.
What equipment is needed?
Dedicated Broadband [i.e. NOT shared with your data broadband facilities], Internet Protocol Phones or Analogue phone Adapters.
Why do I need “dedicated broadband”?
Most businesses use standard broadband for their communications i.e. internet, emails and data. This is usually shared with up to 50 other “users” at a time and can become very busy. A robust voice application would not be shared with data users and we recommend a dedicated line.
Will all my calls be FREE?
No, calls to other clients on the same service provider’s network are usually free and others are usually at a reduced cost. Overall your charges should be lower than a traditional analogue system.
Can I keep my current phone numbers?
Yes, we would need to have a signed letter of authorisation and your existing numbers would be transferred over in a seamless process. This can be arranged by your VoIP Service Provider.
What’s a VoIP Service Provider?
VoIP Service Providers are the next generation of telecoms companies; they provide interconnection between VoIP networks and traditional networks.

Your choice varies with your specific needs and requirements as calling plans vary. We would recommend a VoIP Service Provider that we believe would be best for your business. Rates vary between providers and currently prices can range from per minute charges to flat monthly bills.
